What is a peptide?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids — smaller than proteins, larger than single amino acids. Many act as signaling molecules. Insulin, oxytocin, and GLP-1 are all peptides.

Regulatory categories explained

FDA-approved means a peptide has cleared clinical trials for a specific indication. 'Research only' means it's available for in-vitro or animal study but not for human use. Categories 1 and 2 reflect compounding pharmacy guidance.

Reading evidence tiers

Our 5-dot scale spans anecdotal reports to randomized controlled trials in humans. A 5-dot peptide has Phase III RCT data. A 2-dot peptide has only early animal or cell-culture work.
